The world is full of wonderful things. Among them? Ancient Chinese art.
This necklace was inspired by a Qing dynasty porcelain saucer depicting a Western skating scene in fuchsia and gold.

The pairing of the art glass beads was serendipitous and the wirework connecting them just happened! From there, this piece-- specifically the balance of color in it-- was a challenge.

The moonstone mimics the semi-transparency of the fine china well and the dark peacock pearls pull off the not-quite-black of the detailing on the plate. Rhyolite and pyrite for the bits of green, lots of copper and brass for the framework and clothing colors.

This is a complicated piece in color and texture and it will go beautifully with your purples and pinks, dark olive and army greens, greys, blacks and whites.
